Traditional Acrylic Denture

When a person has some natural teeth missing (either due to aging, accident etc), a right denture is very crucial for he/she to be able to continue eating and appearance.

Dentures are removable appliances which fit well into the mouth of patient for them to still able to eat and look normally.

Types of denture depend on the dental health and needs, the following are some types of dentures :

• Immediate Denture (Temporarily)

For patient who has just had their teeth removed and this kind of denture will be made immediately on the day of extraction to ease the patient. However, usually our gum will naturally shrink and this immediate denture may not fit well after few weeks. Eventually, the immediate denture may need to be readjusted / relined or replaced to a new set.

• Partial Denture

For patient who has few missing teeth, then partial denture will be produced and it will fit tightly by relying on the remaining teeth. Its position maybe secured with the assistance of wire clasp, design shape or even some adhesive cream (Polident). Acrylic and Chrome cobalt are two of the common material in producing partial denture.

• Full Denture

For patient who has no teeth at all, either upper or lower mouth, then full denture is a need to restore their needs for eating and looks normally. Acrylic is the main material for the production of full denture
